Specified Skilled Worker (SSW／特定技能) Japanमा labor-shortage भएका निश्चित sectorsमा सीप भएका विदेशी नागरिकलाई काम गर्न दिने status of residence हो। Nepali applicantsका लागि यो केवल “language test पास गरेर Japan जाने visa” होइन। सही field छान्ने, Japanese र sector skill test पास गर्ने, genuine employer भेट्ने, employment conditions जाँच्ने, country-specific procedure पूरा गर्ने र immigration approval लिने पूरा pathway हो।

Fieldको नाम मात्र होइन, त्यस fieldभित्र permitted job description हेर्नुहोस्। “Hotel,” “factory” वा “driver” जस्तो broad labelले eligibility निश्चित गर्दैन। Actual duties relevant ministry/ISAले परिभाषित गरेको scopeभित्र हुनुपर्छ।
कसले SSW (i) pathway प्रयोग गर्न सक्छ?
- नेपालबाट test र recruitment process पूरा गरेर आउने applicant।
- Japanमा Student वा अन्य statusबाट requirements पूरा गरी change गर्ने applicant।
- Technical Intern Training (ii) satisfactorily पूरा गरेका व्यक्ति—same fieldमा applicable test exemption हुन सक्छ।
- Different TIT fieldबाट SSW field बदल्ने व्यक्ति—नयाँ fieldको skill test आवश्यक हुन सक्छ।
Exam पास गर्नुले visa guarantee गर्दैन। Employer, contract, applicant background, documents, health/character-related requirements र immigration review अलग चरण हुन्।
Japanese language requirement
SSW (i) का लागि सामान्यतः JFT-Basic वा JLPT N4 वा माथि पास गर्नुपर्छ। तर field-specific exception छ:
- Taxi/bus driving र railway train-operation कामका लागि official guidanceले JLPT N3 वा माथि बताउँछ।
- Nursing careमा general Japanese requirementसँगै Nursing Care Japanese Language Evaluation Test पनि चाहिन्छ।
- Successfully completed Technical Intern Training (ii) भएकालाई conditionsअनुसार language/skill test exemption हुन सक्छ।
Current test rules र scheduleका लागि ISA SSW proficiency-test page हेर्नुहोस्। July 2026 मा portalले Nepalका JFT-Basic dates देखाएको भए पनि future seat, date वा test center यही रहन्छ भनेर अनुमान नगर्नुहोस्। Test organizerको booking page अन्तिम स्रोत हो।
Skill test कसरी छान्ने?
पहिले “कुन काम उपलब्ध छ?” भन्दा “कुन fieldको काम म वास्तवमै गर्न सक्छु?” सोध्नुहोस्। Field change पछि सजिलो नहुन सक्छ। यी पाँच criteria score गर्नुहोस्:
- Previous education वा hands-on experience
- Japanese communication needed at work
- Physical demands, night shift र location
- Long-term progression, including SSW (ii) pathway
- Test availability in Nepal/Japan र preparation resources
Official sample questions, syllabus र registration instructions सम्बन्धित sector bodyबाट मात्र लिनुहोस्। Coaching centerले बनाएको mock test useful हुन सक्छ, तर exam ruleको authority होइन।
Nepalबाट Japan आउने 9-step pathway
1. Field र allowed duties verify गर्नुहोस्
ISA job-description page, sector ministry र test organizerको information compare गर्नुहोस्। नयाँ थपिएका fieldमा details developmentमा हुन सक्छन्; paid agentको verbal promiseमा निर्भर नगर्नुहोस्।
2. Language र skill tests plan गर्नुहोस्
Test ID, registration account, passport spelling, fee, exam city र result validity जाँच्नुहोस्। Passportमा RAJAN र certificateमा RAJAN KUMAR जस्तो mismatch भए applicationअघि organizerसँग correction procedure सोध्नुहोस्।
3. Nepal-specific official procedure जाँच्नुहोस्
Sending organization वा government approval आवश्यक छ कि छैन भन्ने देशअनुसार फरक हुन सक्छ। Licensed channel, permitted fee र labor approvalबारे Nepalका competent authorities तथा Embassy of Japan in Nepalको SSW page बाट current information लिनुहोस्। Unlicensed intermediaryलाई passport वा ठूलो cash payment नदिनुहोस्।
4. Genuine employer खोज्नुहोस्
Companyको legal name, address, website, corporate number, job location र interviewer identity verify गर्नुहोस्। Japanभित्र भए Hello Work पनि प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ। “COE निश्चित,” “interview चाहिँदैन,” वा “tourist visaमा गएर काम सुरु” जस्ता promises red flag हुन्।
5. Interview र written employment conditions
Contract sign गर्नुअघि gross salary मात्र होइन, basic wage, overtime rate, deductions, dormitory, utilities, transport, days off, shift, probation र job location जाँच्नुहोस्। Companyले written working conditions दिनुपर्छ। Japanese workerसँग समान कामका लागि remuneration discriminatory रूपमा कम हुनु हुँदैन।
6. Support plan बुझ्नुहोस्
SSW (i) workerले company वा registered support organizationबाट required support पाउँछ। Official pageले 10 areas बताउँछ: pre-entry explanation, airport transport, housing/utilities help, life orientation, government procedures, Japanese study, complaint consultation, community communication, involuntary separation हुँदा job-change help, र नियमित meetings। विस्तृत सूची: Getting Company Support।
7. COE/status application
Contract final भएपछि Japanमा Certificate of Eligibility application वा Japanभित्र status change application हुन्छ। Company employee वा authorized professionalले process support गर्न सक्छ। Submitted documentsको complete copy आफूसँग राख्नुहोस्। COE आएको मात्रले entry visa automatically issued हुन्छ भन्ने होइन।
8. Embassy visa र departure process
COE, passport र required forms लिएर Japanese diplomatic missionको current procedure follow गर्नुहोस्। साथै Nepalको foreign-employment approval, insurance, orientation वा other departure requirements competent Nepal authorityसँग verify गर्नुहोस्।
9. Arrivalपछि records र support
Residence registration, bank, phone, insurance/pension र workplace orientation समयमा पूरा गर्नुहोस्। Contractको copy, payslips, shift records, support meetings र deductions सुरक्षित राख्नुहोस्। Promised काम र actual काम फरक भए support manager, registered support organization, labor consultation वा immigration officeसँग चाँडै कुरा गर्नुहोस्।

Gross monthly wage + regular allowances − social insurance − income tax − resident tax − dormitory/utilities − other lawful deductions = estimated take-home
पहिलो वर्ष resident tax कम देखिएर दोस्रो वर्ष take-home घट्न सक्छ। Overtimeलाई guaranteed basic income नमान्नुहोस्। Dormitory feeमा furniture, internet, utilities वा cleaning fee अलग छ कि लिखित रूपमा सोध्नुहोस्।
Scam र exploitation red flags
- Receipt बिना ठूलो recruitment fee वा “visa guarantee fee”।
- Blank contract, blank power of attorney वा passport राख्ने demand।
- Test certificate किनिदिने वा substitute candidateको promise।
- Contractमा एउटा job, actual planमा अर्को fieldको काम।
- Salary Japanese workerभन्दा धेरै कम, overtime unpaid वा illegal deductions।
- Company/support organizationको legal identity नदिने।
- Job छोडे automatic ठूलो penalty तिर्नुपर्ने clause।
- Family Type‑1 मै तुरुन्त dependent visaमा ल्याइदिने promise।
Japanमा studentबाट SSW change गर्दा
- Language र field skill test pass evidence तयार गर्नुहोस्।
- Attendance, tuition, part-time-hour compliance र tax records clean राख्नुहोस्।
- SSW status approved हुनुअघि full-time SSW work सुरु नगर्नुहोस्।
- Graduation/withdrawal timing र current status expiry coordinate गर्नुहोस्।
- School certificate, employment contract र support planका dates consistent राख्नुहोस्।
SSW job change गर्दा
Same fieldभित्र employer change सम्भव हुन सक्छ, तर नयाँ employer र status-related procedure पूरा नगरी काम सुरु गर्नु illegal work risk हुन सक्छ। Different SSW fieldमा सरल transfer मान्नु हुँदैन; नयाँ fieldको test र status review आवश्यक हुन सक्छ। Current official Steps to Working in Japan जाँच्नुहोस्।

Official program summaryअनुसार Type‑1 मा family accompaniment सामान्यतः permitted छैन। Type‑2 मा requirements पूरा भए family सम्भव हुन्छ। Individual family memberको independent status अलग विषय हो।
Exam पास गरेपछि job guaranteed हुन्छ?
